Hello Fellow Flywheelers!
First I would like to thank you
all for your support in my
undertaking of the position of
president of The Flywheelers. I know
that I won’t be able to fill the
shoes of our past president, Lindley
Clark, who was, in my opinion, the
best president we’ve ever had. He is
and will be greatly missed. I would
also like to thank Judy Clark for
her willingness to continue as
secretary/treasurer of the club. I’m
sure everyone appreciates her
continued support and contributions.
I’m sure that by now everyone is
aware that the club has decided on a
new home! We are leaving the Sugar
Farm, and our new home will be in
Moscow, TN. Hopefully the new lease
will be ready to sign by the end of
February. This is a very exciting
time for our club. This is the first
time in the history of the club that
we will have the opportunity to be
our own boss. We will be able to
make decisions based on what the
club wants and what is good for the
club, without having to get
permission or approval from anyone
except our own club members.
Don’t get me wrong – a successful
transition from the Sugar Farm to
Moscow will require a lot of work
from all of our members. I am very
excited about this move and I
welcome the challenge! I am sure
this will be a good move for our
club.
We will have a club meeting on
Saturday, Feb. 26th, at
6:00 pm, at the Mt. Pleasant
Volunteer Fire Department. I’m very
sorry this is such short notice, but
we certainly have a lot to talk
about. We will need to decide on a
Board of Directors in order to sign
our new lease agreement with these
folks in Moscow. Many decisions will
need to be made concerning the
moving of equipment – like the
sawmill and the big engine, building
a pulling track, grounds
maintenance, security, refurbishing
the concession stand, and bathrooms.
We also need to decide on upcoming
show dates and what we will need to
do to get ready for our first show.
We have a lot of hard-working,
talented people in this club, so I
know we can accomplish these tasks
if we put our heads together and
follow through on what we decide to
do.
Come hungry! This meeting will
also be a chile supper. Chile will
be furnished by the existing board
members, and paper goods will be
furnished by the club. Feel free to
bring a dessert, as we all could use
a little sweetening up.
It’s time to fish or cut bait!
Mark your calendars!
See you Feb. 26th!
